Memorial Day Weekend BBQ — 2 rounds

On Memorial Day weekend, we went to Robert Treman State Park for a BBQ with Fumi and Muha.  It has been a while since Jordan has a play date with Ania.  They have known each other since 4 years old in Elizabeth Ann Clunn Montessori.

We packed everything but the lighter fluid.  Therefore, we have to start the fire in the nature way — using wood.  The girls and Muha went around picking the small twigs and branches around.  We are lucky that we are in a state park where we can find things easily.

I am really happy that everyone likes the meat I marinate (except for Muha who is a vegetarian).  This is also the first time I try clam bake and it was GREAT!!  I also learned a new trick from Fumi to bake corn — wrap in husks and serve with special sauce (soy sauce with sugar).  Fumi is really good on making simple things elegant, both in taste and presentation.  Did I mention that Fumi is a professional chef?  See Fun Fumi for details.

Mimi and Ania had a nature walk with Muha after lunch.  After we cleaned up, I took Mimi and Ania to Betsy’s house for our 2nd BBQ.  Of course, I had such a great time that I forgot to take ANY pictures.  The food was wonderful but the lake view was even unforgettable.  This is a perfect day for outdoor recreation.  The sun is shining and outdoor is breezing.  Our party ended with 紅豆牛奶冰.  Yummmmm…….

Do you think this is the end of Mimi’s day?  No, No, No.  I took Mimi and Ania back to Fumi for a sleep over.  Of course, we didn’t get there until close to 11pm.
