End of the Semester — Fun Fun Fun
Well, we are getting closer to the end of the semester. Mimi told me that she couldn’t imagine that this is approaching to the end. She felt the school just started not long ago. However, if she thinks of specific events (like Holloween party, valentine Celebration, etc), it was actually pretty far away ago. It is interesting that she is making the connection of time this way.
We got an email from Mrs. Stoff. Next week is the end of the school week. It will be filled with fun activities (and makes me wonder why am I staying in the office but not in the school having fun….)
Here is what they are about to do next week (insert from Mrs. Stoff’s email):
Monday, June 21, is an all school field day. There will be some water activities so kids should bring a bath suit, towel, sunscreen, and maybe some water shoes (or any shoes that can get wet). Kids will also participate in other games and activities throughout the day, and we will all have a session with Hilby the Clown (big crowd pleaser!)
Tuesday, June 22, is packing day! The kids will not only clear out their own desks, but will help me pack up the room. Ms. Beardsley is then treating the class to a pizza lunch and an extended Second Steps lesson. We will also be celebrating summer birthdays that afternoon. The 5 birthday kids have gotten together and made a plan to share bringing treats for that afternoon.
Wednesday (last day of school) is the 4th grade Ithaca Swim Club field trip. We will walk over at 9:45, spend the day swimming and then walk back at 1:30. Kids should wear their bath suit under their clothes (bring underclothes to change into at the end of the day, if they want). They should also bring a bag lunch, snack, water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Optional: goggles, hat, book, etc. I will be sending home report cards that day.
Do’nt you want to be in the school with Mimi next week? If this is not enough, on Thursday, they have another day of “retreat” with Cayuga Height After School Program at Stewart Park. All day water play and BBQ…..
