Mimi’s Report Card

I don’t know how other parents view reports card.  Here in Ithaca, children do not receive grades on their card.  Instead, they receive 4 different ranking:

1 = Little progress meeting grade level expectations
2 = Beginning to meet grade level expectations
3= Meets grade level expectations
4= Exceeds grade level expectations

Mimi receives her “report card” three times a year, November, March and June.  She definately seems to make progress throughout the year.

In Math, Science/Health, Social Studies and Technology, she has been receiving mostly 4 in ranking back in November.  It is not surprising that she has all 4 in these categories.  She now has 4 in Reading Skills and Listening and Speaking Skills.  Most of the progress she has made and yet to make is in writing.

Throughout this year, there were numerous NY State mandate testing on reading, writing and math.  I will be more interested in learning how Mimi is doing on these subjects.

Stay tuned.
