Tuesday Night Dance Concert

We were out last night with Betsy and Mark to Cornell Tuesday Night free concert.  We went to get a quick bite before the concert.

As usual, we went to our favorite spot — the balcony

Right before the concert started…

This is a contemporary dance performance.  A few pieces were very interested but some was too abstract for me or Mimi.

This was a puppet damce — a tribute to Michael Jackson. The puppet was manipulated by a few dancers.  They precisely captured the essence of Michael Jackson’s spirit, his dance moves and of course, his music.

Blurry picture of Mimi and I.

Performers of the day……  The guy with microphone loooooooved to talk.

Almost full audience.

This was another interesting piece.  They used a big piece of fabric that symbolized different meaning, stages, etc.  Sometimes, it seemed like waving but the next moment, it turned into a flower.  Soon after, it was wrapped around a dancer and the fabric became a beautiful gown.

Very very interesting…

I was especially enjoying the Flamenco dance at the end.  The energy from the dancer was piercing through the stage directly to audience.  I forgot to take any pictures of that performance.  There was only one dancer, one guy who played guitar and another person clapping.  However, it was the most powerful performance of the day.  Bravo!!
