Stay Home But VERY BUSY
On Thursday morning, Mimi and mommy over slept. By the time we woke up, it was pass 9am. We know the campers probably already left the camping ground. Mimi was pretty tired from the activies within the last few days (baseball game, piano lessons, etc). I decided to take today off and to run a few errands.
We thought it would be a quiet day staying home mostly. As it turned out, we were pretty productive and accomplished more than what we thought we were going to.
Here is our day:
Morning: Took our Land Rover for another road check. Last time mommy drove the car, there were some strange sounds from the engine. We will go for another road trip in a week so the car must be flawless. Mimi and Mommy drove the car to the bodyshop and took their shuttle back home.
Mommy started checking on broadway ticket to see if we can get a good deal with a desirable seating arrangement at Mama Mia. As it turned out, we were able to get two seats from the second row on Mezzanie. That was an near perfect. Mommy knows that having a good seat is very important for Mimi. We always love to sit at the front row on Mezzanie becuase it will give you a great view from the top. After searching on line for a while, we decided to grab the tickets before they are gone. Because of that, we WILL have a bite of the big apple this weekend!!
Mommy also made a doctor’s appointment with our pediatrician. Mimi has had productive cough for the last few days. Even though it did not develop into any fever, mommy still will like her to be checked out to make sure she is good to go. The only appointment mommy can get was scheduled at 3:15pm.
Mommy realized that she needed to attend a conference call in the afternoon from 1-3pm. She asked if Auntie Cathy can take Mimi to the appointment during the time and keep Mimi for the afternoon when mommy was in the call. We went to Auntie Cathy’s new house to visit them. She graciously agreed to watch Mimi for me during the time.
We invited Emma to join us for lunch at Robert Purcell dining hall. They serve mostly summer campers during this time of the year. Of course, the menu was adjusted accordingly. The entree usually are very appealing for children.
Emma LOVES to eat vegetable. Mimi and I usually started with entree and get the salad last. However, Emma started with a plateful of vegetable. Mimi also got one for herself (Thank you Emma!!)
It is interesting to know that different people have different eating habit and preferences to food. Emma worked on her salad so much that mommy asked her to look for something else (like protein and carb). This is the first time Mimi ever heard me asking someone to eat protein over vegetable. She said “I don’t know you are capable of saying something like that!”
See their full plate of salad?
Mimi started with her pasta.
Another kind of pasta.
After lunch, I brough Mimi and Emma back to Auntie Cathy’s house and head home for my conference call.
My phone call did not last as long as I thought it would be. I was able to go to pick up Mimi at 2:30pm for her doctor’s appointment.
Doctor Lamber checked up Jordan and believed she was fine. Her cough probably was triggered by her asthma so he wrote up the prescription for us.
Right after the doctor’s appointment, Mommy got a phone call that the car is ready to be picked up and the shuttle is on the way to our house. We rushed home to take the shuttle for our Land Rover.
We needed to go to Grayhound station downtown to buy our late night bus ticket to the City. To maximize our time in the city, mommy decided to take the late night shuttle (leaving at 1:30am) and arriving before 7am. No one will be at the station during that time so we must have our tickets on hand before boarding. Our Land Rover sounded perfect on our way to the station. I think she will be ready for our trip to DC in a week!!
After getting the ticket, we went to our favorite, Wegman, for dinner. Before getting home, we swing by Tops to pick up Mimi’s prescription.
We successfully parked our Land Rover into the garage. Mommy took some time this afternoon to clean up the garage. It feels good to de-cluter and make more space in the new house. Now we do not have to worry about exposing Land Rover under any weather changes.
That evening, both Mimi and I started getting ready for our trip to NY on Friday. Looking back, we had a lot accomplished even though we didn’t seem to do much.
It feels pretty good!!
