Long Way to Find Daddy 苦儿寻父记

After the hearty breakfast, Mimi and I are on the way to JFK International Airport to pick up Daddy.  His flight arrives at 3pm so I thought us leaving around 1pm will give us plenty of time.

Well, I was WRONG!!

Mimi’s “good-bye” pose in front of the hotel.  Did you see her dolly has the same hair style as her?

We are getting one subway ticket to go to the airport.

Here is our original plan (see map):

— Take #2 subway from Wall Street to Fulton Street station
— Transfer to A train to Howard Beach/JFK International Airport

Unfortunately, after waiting for the late coming #2 train to Fulton Street (and walked from #2 to A train stop), we realize that there was a construction to the A train that prevent us from going to JFK directly.

After checking with the station officer (whose English is VERY HARD to understand), I realize that we have to take an alternative route to get to daddy:

— Take E Train North bound to West 4th Street
— Take A Train South to JFK

It seems fairly easy.   However, it is a hike to get to E train station.  Remember, we have two large back pack, plus the big paper bag from American Girl store.  After getting to the E train station, it is another 20 minutes waiting in the hot subway station.

Finally, we managed to get to West 4th street, the train that will take us to JFK comes every half an hour.  Another LONG wait in the very hot subway station.  Luckily, we met two guys from Nokia.  They are also on their way to JFK.  Following them, we know we are going to the right place.

Hot, Hot and VERY Hot!!

On our way to JFK

The two guys from Nokia.  Thank you for showing the way!!

Waiting for the connecting shuttle going to JFK.

By now, Mimi is very tired.

Despite that, the trip was good.  At least we found our way.  The shuttle to JFK took us gave us a grand view to the airport.
