Summer is OVER!!
Time flies so fast. Summer is over just like a blink….
Now that Mimi is back to school, I want to take a moment to look back to what had happened in the summer.
Our number one accomplishment of the summer is our move to the new house. It was not an easy task and we still have boxes left to unpack. However, Mimi and I were a great team to tackle this challenging task.
Because of the move, Mimi now has her new best friend — Lucy. Together, these two had done quite a few things. They started their first neighborhood enterprise and successfully recruited new client (even there is only one). They also went to see a baseball game, concert, play, BBQ. Lucy’s warm friendship really helps Mimi with a good transition to the new school. Thank you, Lucy.
We also took a few family trips (big and small) in the summer —
HS’s family stayed with us for a week at the beginning of the summer. We marched all the way to Darian Lake theme park, Corning Glass Museum, Niagara Fall, etc. That was probably one of the highlight of the summer.
We also went to DC to attend mommy’s cousin’s wedding. That counted as a mini family reunion because we got to see Mimi’s uncle, great uncle, aunt, and of course grandpa and grandma.
Mommy also took Mimi for a few small trips to New York State Fair, NYC (to pick up Daddy), and of course the trip to Saratoga Springs.
Even we seem very busy, Mimi still has her own accomplishment. She completed her gymnastic level 7 skills and will be ready to compete for the fall season. She is about to make her choice on floor music. She is really excited about that.
In addition to that, Mimi and mommy also learned a new piano duet piece — Canon 7. We both now master the melody and will be doing to final polish.
Since August, Mimi has been staying home with grandpa and grandma after her gym practice. In the past, she always had to stay in a full day summer camp. Because her gym practice only lasted half a day, she was able to spend more time with grandpa and grandma in the summer.
Looking back, this was a really rewarding summer!!
Dear Mommy and mimi, I missed you a lot. I am impressed how much you have done this summer and how much you have grown during past couple months. I know I missed a big portion of your life and I know mommy is taking good care of you. Love you a lot.
