Scarecrow Jubilee
Don’t worry. This is not a dead body. This is a scarecrow lying on the grass in Ithaca Children’s Garden.
After leaving Cornell, we came here to attend “Scarecrow Jubilee”. We got to make scarecrow ourselves (all supplies provided and free of charge).
The day is still beautiful and children are anxious. Let’s go.
Shortly after we arrived, Oly came with her family as well. She and Mimi got into a team to make one scarecrow. They talked about what to do first and how to tackle their assignment (just like what they did last year in the classroom).
Mimi drew the face with Emma who came earlier with her family.
Then you stuff hay into the fabric to make a head out of it.
Since this is a free event, the organizer show the sponsor for promotion purpose.
Emma and Mia got help from a big boy to make the “cross”. They helped children to make it since it require big hand tools.
Such as a saw.
Now that they have the cross, they are going to put pants to the cross and make “legs” for the crow.
Stuffing, stuffing and more stuffing….
