Mimi’s Story

The following is the story written by Mimi.  I will use the exact the same sentence structure and punctuation (with some spelling errors as well).

“AHHHHHH”!!!!  This is going to be so exciting!  I had butterflies in my stomach,  My heart was pounding a mile a minute, and my eyes felt like popping out of my head!!!  It was the first day of school, and I was sure it was going to be the best!  With my best friend, Julie Canales, nothing could go wrong! Or so I thought.

I was looking for Julie on the bus, when suddenly I came to the back of the bus.  No! I thought she has to be here!  So I took a random seat hoping she got on the next stop when sudeenly I realized she was sitting right next to me!  But I could tell she wasn’t the same Julie from her appearance.  She was wearing high gloss lipstick and who knows what made their eyelashes so black.  When I arrived at school, I realized this was middle school so I didn’t know where my classes were and I didn’t know anyone that could help me.  I felt like puking the butterflies that were in my stomach before now felt like a dead motionless rock.  Just then, I accidentally bumped into this guy and what felt like a milla-second later, a girl came up to him talking, and she obviously really him by the way she looked at him.  Even though I only got a second to see her, I could see that she was wearing so much makeup that if she cried, her face would leak like an artists masterpiece.  Her clothes looked like they were just bought.  I saw that same girl at my second period in Social Studies, but the difference was, she was now with a gang, that was wearing just as much makeup, and to me, what looked like matching outfits.  Class dismissed!  Ms. Halet said.  Suddenly, the same girl I saw, know for the third time today, was walking towards me.  She snickered, “Whered ya get that shirt? the dump?”  Her gang including herself laughed.  I could feel tears welling up in my eyes.  I ran to the bathroom, and for what felt like a millenia, I came out, and when I did I realize I missed lunch.  the rest of the day wasn’t much better.  I walk home from school to find out she wasn’t there, so I decided to do my homework.  When I first looked at it, I didn’t think much of it, but when it actually came to doing it, I had istaken myself.  DINGDONG, I went to get the door, to find my mom.  I guess I still had my worried face on because she imediately dropped the groceries and led me to the couch. “What’s wrong honey?” she asked I didn’t want to think about what happened at school, but I guess I had to.

Halfway into my conversation, I broke into tears again.  When I finished my story, my mom said something I didn’t expect her to say.  Instead of confronting me, she said “Well that’s what happens in real life, and now that your in middle school, you should learn to stick up for yourself.”  “Another thing is that it shouldn’t matter if someone teases you or calls you names, just know that the most important thing is that you have people who love you and then it shouldn’t matter.”  That was the best advice anyone ever gave me.

The next day I went to school, I saw the same girl, and she teased me the same way but the difference was, I knew that thing was to be yourself and don’t let anybody interfear with that.
