Live Coverage of Mimi’s First Official Gymnastic Meet — Judges Cup at Rochester, NY

Mimi and I went to Rocehster, NY for her first official meet.  I was a bit nervous because this is the first time I was by myself with Mimi in a meet.  There were several times when daddy couldn’t be with us but grandma was there (and we actually had a pretty good time)!!

 

Mimi went to Syracuse for a mock meet (which was a qualifying event to make sure gymnasts have the skills required to compete).  She did mock out but she didn’t perform well.  She was still missing a few skills and elements to complete her bar and beam routine.  We both were a little nervous about what will it be like this time.

 

I posted her competition on Youtube.  I decided not to use Yahoo video anymore becuase their functionality is limited.  I will post the links of her competition for your review.  I will add more “interesting moments” from the meet when I have time to upload the video.

The male judge in the middle was from NYC.  Apparently, he held a higher standard and gave lower scores.)

Finally, it was the time of the award.   In addition to the placement of each event, they also added a “special award” per event.  These award was presented to one gymnast whose performance gave the “WOW” effect to the audience and the judge.  Mimi was the winner of the floor event:
