Busy Saturday
It was a beautiful sunny day on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was still very cold (30 degree and less)…..
Mimi started her day with her drawing class with Michelle.
They learned to make “stained glass” project today. The project doesn’t involve any actual glass but the girls will learn to use very sharp tools to create the patter of their desire.
There will be more work for next week. Stay tuned.
After the class, we went to pick up Irena from her dance class. We all went to the only dim sum restaurant in town for lunch.
We intentionally asked to be seated at the corner, and there is a reason…..
Mommy will take these girls to participate “Bring Your Child To Work Day” at Cornell in April. The girls need to decide which workshop they want to attend. They work really well together. They take time discussing and deciding what they want to do, before the dishes were served.
Of course, we ordered Mimi’s favorite — chickend finger.
After lunch, the girls want to go for a bowling game. This is the first time mommy takes Mimi to a bowling game. Apparently, none of us are the pro.
The photo was taken before the ball hit the ditch….
Irena was a bit luckier, but not by much….
What are they looking at? Their scores were displayed on the TV monitor above.
Irena: 7 and Jordan: 0
She looks like she knows what she is doing….
After a few trial, it got better. But they still need lots of work.
Irena went home for her class on Saturday afternoon. Mommy then took Mimi to our next stop — Hickey (the music store) to buy Mimi’s reed. Mimi’s band teacher has been asking mommy to buy new reed for Mimi. Finally, we found the chance to shop at the store today.
We both love to check out their music book to find something interesting to learn. Mimi also likes to try their electronic keyboard.
At the end, we bought a few new pieces of music, other than the reeds. One of the piece was Clair De Lune from Debussy. I hope Mimi will be ready to learn this piece soon. Will check with Merilee, our piano teacher. You can hear the music at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LXl4y6D-QI
Mommy usually doesn’t collect coupon. However, there were a book of coupons from Wegman expiring on Saturday. Mommy decided to take Mimi for a scavenger hunt.
There are particular items you need to buy in order to get the discount. This girl is under a mission.
One of the item is to find “Fruit on the Bottom” Yogurt — this is a buy one get one free deal.
Mimi was very particular about the favor she likes and mommy sticks with whichever that has the longest shelf life. We are compromising to get what we both want.
At Wegman, we ran into Mimi’s old time friend, Ashley…
While mommy had a good chat with Ashley’s mom, these girls were having a good time as well.
Finally, we were done with our shopping….
We went home so that Mimi can prepare her bag for a sleep over at Callie’s house on Saturday night.
