Fallen Tree………..
On March 10 late night in Ithaca, mommy was chatting with daddy on line. He was getting ready for his business trip to Taiwan. We had a good chat that night. Our conversation ended shortly before midnight at my time (around 2pm, 3/11/11 Japanese time).
It was an unsually windy night. With the windows tightly closed, you still can hear the wind howling outside. Little did we know, something that would change the history of Japan was about to happen….
The next morning, we were woken up by a phone call from Taiwan. Grandpa called and asked if we knew anything about the earthquake in Japan. For a few hours, we couldn’t get a hold of daddy and didn’t know if he was safe.
I remember praying for his safety, like nothing else matters. Luckily, I got a phone call from him after his flight landed safely in Taiwan.
A few days later, i found a tree knocked down in our backyard. It must have been from the strong gusting wind that night. Had the wind been blowing at a slightly different direction, the tree would have hit the back of our house.
Even this is a tough time for us, we are still blessed. Thank all who helped and cared….
