Mimi’s Physical
Every year, before the school starts, Mommy has take Mimi to do her annual physical. Part of the routine is to check on her vision, hearing, heights, weight and blood test, etc. This year, Mimi has to take two immunization shots before enrolling to the 6th grade. The two shots are Tdap and Varicella.
Mimi has quite a bit of ear wax in both years. Mommy is getting her the wax drop to soften her ear wax before doctor can remove those.
Checking her pulse.
And blood pressure.
Mimi wanted to talk to the doctor about her rashes.
Changing into her gown.
She is quite nervous about the two shots she is about to take…..
We have been going to Buttermilk Pediatric since Mimi was born. Dr. Shrivastava has been taking care of Mimi for the 11th years. Time really flies….
The nurse now is getting ready for Mimi’s two shots.
Getting all the equipment and tools ready….
Dr. Shrivastava said that Mimi is at the age when she still can use the baby niddle… Less painful.
Among all, Mimi dislike finger poking the most. Unfortunately, this is a required procedure every year to collect blood sample.
Let’s get this over with!!
Ouch!! This HURTS!!
After the finger poking, we are now ready for Mimi’s immunization shots.
The nurse uses a “decoy” to distract Mimi’s pain point. This helps to eliminate the pain when the shot gets into her arm.
This nurse is very experienced in getting shots to children. She was quick and gentle.
The whole physical was over after an hour. Mimi left before contributing her “urine” sample.
My girl is almost 5 feet tall, 94 pounds. Her blood pressure is 110/68 and her pulse is 96 beats a minute. Her vision gets a bit worse and will need to come back to re-check her hearing after clearing her ear wax.
