Mimi Made Dinner on Wednesday Night
Mommy was running late on Wednesday night to make dinner. Mimi was asked to help out with dinner. She is now pretty familiar with the operation in kitchen and can follow instructions pretty well (including in Chinese).
She now knows how to cook rice (and read measurement on the cup and cooking container).
And is not shy from washing rice before cooking.
Does she look like a pro?
We made stir-fried that evening. Mimi was chopping vegetable into smaller pieces.
And can’t wait to taste her own cooking.
The research shows that when children are involved in meal preparation, they tend to eat better. That certainly is true that evening on our dining table.
After dinner, Mommy made macaroni and cheese for Mimi’s lunch next day. Once the pasta was made, Mimi helped to mix the sauce into the pasta.
Of course, she did more than helping. She also served herself a plate of mac and cheese….. (after dinner and fruit)….
