Gift from the sky? A Day Off From School — on the 2nd day school opens….
Thursday morning, mommy saw an email from the school district that announced a school close for the day. Rain had been pouring for the last 24 hours from Tropical Storm Lee traveled through Ithaca and northeast. County road was closed in the morning so no school bus or transportation will be allowed.
Mimi was very happy about the extra “bonus” day off. Since Cornell was closed in the morning, Mommy stayed home to be with Mimi. She started her day with a bounty breakfast — mini dumplings, cherry tomatos, straberries, and one big grapefruit.
Mimi is now used to stay home by herself so she started her own routine — reading, piano practicing and clarinet. It seems that she was able to keep herself occupied most of the time. Of course, she was organizing her backpack and her school folders so she will have a sharp start in the morning on Friday!!
