Letter to Mimi’s Coach

Mimi ended her competition season last weekend with a 4th place ranking at the NY State Meet.  We were really happy to see her development throughout the season.  It’s not only because of her placement, but also because of the fact that this girl was able to overcome her injury to re-learn all her skills.  To top that, she didn’t perform at her peak two weeks ago in Utica.  That frustrated her a lot.

It was such an accomplishment to be able to prevail those hurdles and pull herself together to perform at the most critical moment.

For that, I salute you!!

When she stood on the award stand, I saw Dean and Jayme, her coaches for the last 6 years, stood far behind her.  They had been there through her injuries, frustration, recovery and celebrations.  I felt compelled to write them this letter…………….

Dear Dean and Jayme:

Thank you so much for another successful competition season.

For the last 5 years, Jordan has been following you and Melissa’s foot steps to countless meets for her gymnastic journey.  There were good time, bad time, and some scary moments.  Whenever she is on the floor, your eyes were always following her.  When she wasn’t doing well in her warm-up, it was you who talked her back in shape.  When she fell, you were the first one there to help her.  When she received her trophy, you sat behind her with a smile on your face.

This is an unexpected journey for us.  I never know Jordan will go this far with her gymnastic pursuit.  Nor did I know that we get to grow such a special connection with you.

For that, we really want to say thank you.  Thank you for being a part of our daughter’s life.  She takes her commitment seriously because she sees this is how you apply your value.  She works hard because she knows the efforts you put into her.  She doesn’t give up easily because you don’t give up on any of your gymnasts.  She is not only building her gymnastic skills through her practices, she is also building the most important asset in her life – her characters.  Thank you for being a part of shaping her life.

Whatever decision you make with your family, we want to wish you the very best.  I also want to say THANK YOU!!  Jordan couldn’t go this far without you behind her.  We will continue supporting Jordan with her practice and hope we have another rewarding season to come.

Henry and Connie
