Mimi’s Social Study Project
One of the big project due on Monday is Mimi’s social study project. This is the first time they need to work on a group project. Mimi was in the same group with Lizzy and Chloe. Mimi and Lizzy had known each other since they were in gymnastic team back in 2nd grade. They got along and worked really well together. However, the story wasn’t the same with Chloe.
Chloe was Mimi’s 5th grade classmate and lives in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, Mimi is assigned to the same class again with her this year. She has been hot and cold with Mimi but recently, has been really nasty to her (mommy got so upset with Chloe that she became the first one to be on our “no invitation list” in our family — Congratulations)!! Last week, Mimi was crying her way home from school bus drop. Mommy couldn’t stand it anymore and finally made a phone call to school to address this issue.
Mommy and daddy worked really hard to teach Mimi how to deal with people like Chloe. I guess in a way, we should thank her. No matter where you go, there will always people like that — some does a better job pretending and some doesn’t. With this project, we asked Mimi just be civil with her and not to engage too much un-necessary conversations with this child.
It’s the end of the project. Mimi was going to put all the information together into a poster board. It took her a while to research all different pictures related to ancient and modern Olympic. But I think she did a fine job (given the scenario she was facing).
This is her finished product.
Well — this is Chloe’s piece.
This is the piece written by Mimi.
And Lizzy.
