Future Scientists — Mimi and Irena at Nano Day (tons of photos)
Sunday was a day full of events for our family.
After Mimi’s drawing class, we marched to our first activity of the day — Cornell Nano Day. Nano science is one of the cutting edge technology that the University pours lots of resources to support the research. Every year, they host an open house to the community to show case different science-based hands on activities for children. Of course, we won’t miss that.
This is a 500 times electronic megnifier. They also will project the image to the computer screen. Mimi was trying to check on her callus on her hands.
She has fresh wound on her hands from bar exercises. It won’t heal completely as long as she needs to practice her bar.
You can also check on the fiber on your clothes.
Irena also joined us for the afternoon.
There was a presentation on making battery out of something we see every day — such as lemon, lime, katchup, or even a hamberger.
A group of high school students from South Africa who came to Cornell to attend another conference also joined.

We also met a friend from Montessori — Camilla.
