Mimi went outdoor with Primitive Pursuit

Saturday morning, it was such a beautiful day. Mommy and daddy decided to take Mimi for an outdoor exploration before her gym practice. We went to Primitive Pursuit’s annual open house.

The prorgam aimed to offer youth different ways to experienc ewhat the nature can offer. You get to learn different wild life survival skills. You know where to go if there is a fire in the forest. If you are hungry, you can munch small berries or herbs that you can find in the backyard.

What were they looking?

Oh!! They were learning how to drill the fire from a piece of wood.

Then, Mimi wanted to make her bracelet and ankle band.

You got the fiber directly from plants.

And you braid…..

She was looking for a piece of “jewelry” for her necklace.

And you need to drill a hole for the necklace.

This probably accounted for at least 30 minutes of the day…..

We also saw someone was making a trap with natural means.

Now that she focused on getting her jewelry finished.

Finally, it’s done.

Now Mimi moved on to her 2nd project — making a tree basket.

You need to harvest that while the truck was still fresh so that the surface is soft enough to be peeled off.

Now that she harvested what she needed, she needed to make that into the basket shape.

That’s one of the finished product.

The next step is to drill a hole to secure the edge.

Dala!!! Now you can tell this is a basket, right?

Whlie the two were busy with their basket, mommy was at the other table working on a weapon from rocks.

he was showing mommy how to make the handle of your tool.

This rock can easily be broken up to smaller pieces. Usually, the small piece will come with a very sharp edge — perfect to slice and cut.

Unfortunately, mommy didn’t have time to finish her project. We needed to leave for Mimi’s gym practice. She was still working on her basket in the car.
