Black Labor Day — An Unexpected Accident!!
Friday afternoon, we were heading off to our labor day’s weekend vacation spot — Saratoga Springs. I have heard many people talked about this place and wanted to take Mimi and grandma there for a while.
Finally, we managed to be able to make the trip on the Labor’s Day weekend. Everything was great. The highway was not conjested as expected. The weather was actually very nice, despite the Hurricane Earl forecast.
As we got off I-90, we were heading to our hotel before we started our vacation. I was not familiar with the town (called Amsterdam) and was driving while looking for directions. The next thing I know,
BANG!!!!!
I rear ended another vehicle!
That was not a small incident because it involved three vehicles. Luckily, no one was hurt.
After a long process with phone calls, emails, and the wait for the towing company, we finally made it through the car rental company. Our vehicle was not in a drivable situation. We certainly will need a vehicle to go back to Ithaca. This was a Friday afternoon at 5pm before a long weekend. Of course, there was no car available AT ALL!!
With the help from Enterprise, we were able to rent one of the last vehicles in the Capital Region.
When I got out of the car rental company, Mimi found the rainbow at the sky.
With everything that happened within the past 4 hours, I guess we all learned a valuable lesson by heart. I will certainly be more aware of safety when driving on the road. Jordan will be more thoughtful of other people. Grandma will need to learn to relax a bit more.
With the blessing from the rainbow, we will head back to the hotel with our new Tahoe. We were all exhausted and couldn’t wait for a good night sleep.
