Saratoga Spring — Our First Taste

Since this place is called “Saratoga Spring”, we figure there must be a spring spout somewhere.  There was a sign in the park that took us to a spring spout.  We drove back and forth several times but didn’t find what we looked for.

Finally, we saw something by the road……

A very small well spitting out a small string of water.

We asked the park ranger and he confirmed that was the “spout” we looked for.  This is quite a disappointment but we still decided to get off the car to take a look.

I guess it is true that the water comes with high level of mineral.  We saw the mineral deposit at the bottom of the well.  Based on the color (of red), I guess it might be copper.

From the distance, the spout seems pretty weak.  However, as we got closer (and tried to get one sip of taste), we found it came out pretty strong.  You couldn’t get a sip without spilling it over yourself.

Since grandma and Mimi refused to try, mommy did.

What should I say?  There was a funny taste from the water.  A little salty but also with another taste.  Can’t quite determine if that is something pleasant.

Because of that, a sip is pleanty enough.

This concluded our journey in the state park.
