Summer Reflection — Dancing Shoes Performance — With Betsy and Mark
We went to a few indoor performance in Schartz Performance Center in the summer. These sessions were free and hosted by Cornell.
The first one we went was a contemporary dance performance. Besty and Mark knew one of the dancers (or even the choreographer?) so they invited us to go along.
We first went for a quick bite to eat before the peformance.
As usual, we went to our favorite spot — at the Balcony.
The first dance was to honor Michael Jackson. The puppet was manipulated by a few dancers. They captured the finest movements that were well known as Michael’s “signature” move.
Second dance was a beautiful peace that featured 5 dancers with a big piece of fabric. The fabric sometimes resembled the ocean but the next minute was wrapped around one of the dancer’s body. They were able to use lighting and the texture of the fabric to represent different object throughout the performance. It was an eye opening experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand the other performances so I didn’t take any pictures.
