There Will Always Be a Piece of Pie for YOU
Friday night, Mimi was very down. There was something at school with her friends that upset her very much.
For a grown up, what had happened in the playground might be a small piece of cake. We witness countless battles that are more brutal (and some even happened to ourselves) over the year. However, for a 10-year-old, a quarrel with a best friend friend or a small episode of back talk is enough to break her heart.
There was nothing Mommy can do about what had happened. However, Mommy will not sit there and do nothing when her baby is crying. What should I do?
I filled the jacuzzi with hot water, lighted up the candle, brought her a glass of ice sprinkle water. We talked about what happened when Mimi was taking a bath.
Mommy listened to Mimi’s story. Even though it is hard to see your baby hurt but I know this will just be the beginning. At the end, Mommy brought a piece of pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. Finally, I saw that smile on my baby’s face.
This will not be the last time Mimi comes home with a broken heart. When that happenes, Mommy will always be there with a piece of pie waiting for you…. No matter how hard it is, Mommy will put it together piece by piece.
This is my promise to Mimi.
