Look closer. She wears her tank top and her pant inside out. Why?
Yesterday was the first day with snow accumulation here in Ithaca. Apparently, children in the school were excited about the potential of getting a “snow day” off from school.
According to Lucy, if all children wear their clothes inside out and complete a “ritual”, it will snow so hard that night and the school has to be closed the next day.
What constitutes the “ritual”? That includes several minutes of jumping, singing on the bed while screaming “SNOW DAY!! SNOW DAY!!”.
Mimi enforced this ritual strictly. She showed me she even wore her underpant inside out (of course, this is not something I will put right out on the blog).
She wasn’t a happy girl when I “interrupted” her ritual.
Did it work?
Well, mommy had to drive Mimi to school this morning becuase this girl couldn’t get up early enough for the school bus. I guess it IS a wishful thinking that the school will be closed so easily…..
