A Sleep Over At Irena’s
Mimi must be so happy this week. There was no school on Wednesday. And Friday is the “Superintendent’s Day”, which is a professional development opportunity for teachers in the school district. Of course, that means another day off for children.
Mimi was invited to a sleep over at her dear friend, Irena’s house on Thursday. She came after her gym practice. Mommy brought her dinner along — mushroom/spinach pizza, chickend wings, salad and soup. The portion is not only enough for this hungry girl, but also her friends.
These girls will sleep in the pull-out couch in the living room, with the best view to Cayuga Lake and downtown Ithaca. Of course, their pet dog, Roxie will accompany them.
Tomorrow, there will be a full day for the girls. They will practice their piano and instrument first. Then Janice will take Roxie for her vet appointment. This is a great opportunity for Jordan to see how it is like to be a pet owner.
Then, the girls will be taken to Chili’s for a “grown up” lunch. They get to sit on their own table and order their own food.
Afternoon will be the play time for them until dinner. Janice is making her special fish dish and mommy will bring dessert from Wegman.
What will mommy be doing the night by herself? Finding a hot date or spend the night at the bar? Unfortunately, she will spend her quality time wrapping up the tax filing so that she can meet with the accountant on Friday morning….
