Saturday — Science Center
Saturday after the drawing class, Mimi and Mommy went to Science Center to spend the afternoon. We have come to this place for years but Mimi seems to grow out of it with some of the exhibit. Since there are no other planned activities in the afternoon, mommy decided to come here for a few hours.
Mimi is proficient with the puzzle. She was able to easily figure out to make the oval shape out of these pieces.
We went to the discovery center and played our usual — “do you see what I see?”
This is a game where you will need to build two identical structures with blocks without looking into each other. You can only communicate verbally.
Mommy used to play this with mimi when she was younger. This time, mommy will only use Chinese to talk to Mimi and see how it goes.
Apparently, it works!!
This is mommy’s,
And this is what Mimi built….
Pretty close, right?
We ran into Emma and Mia’s family so this naturally became a play date for the girls.
Trying to figure out the weight differences between the blogs and array them accordingly.
Cute little Mia asked all grown up to stand in a line so that she could take a picture of us.
Mimi was looking into an exhibit that shows the correlations between numbers — thousands, hundreds, and million….
It helps to establish the visual connection to see how small number is distributed among large numbers… It is the basic concept that leads to probability and percentages.
Of course, we will not leave without going to the ultimate challenge — the wood block bridge. This is mommy and mimi’s favorite. After so many trials and errors, mommy figured out a trick to make it work (almost every time).
Tip: The secret is at the top of the block….
And Mimi had one successful trial.
They then moved to the petting zoo to feel the star fish.
These are poisonless and you get to feel their texture on your hand.
Mimi also played around with hermit crab. She was very patient to wait for them to come out.
Mimi was spending about at least half an hour waiting for one crab to come out.
And finally, it did!!
The ultimate hair dryer?
It was so beautiful out there. Of course, we can’t let the sun past without having the girls spending the time outdoor.
