Mimi Made a Sculpture
This year, Mimi has quite a few interesting school projects. A few weeks ago, Mimi came home with a bag full of clay. She said the class is studying Maya and Inca culture. She needed to make a sculpture mimicing these culture.
First, she went on line and looked for a template. Then she worked with daddy to create her own scuplture. These two worked really hard on fine tuning the details elements of the sculpture.
She captured the details of the hair piece, the facial expressions, and other decorations.
Of course, sometimes it will be helpful for have an adult to assist.
But she did that most of her own.
This is the finished work. Not too bad, right?
Another close up look.
Her piece was pretty fragile. The small pieces on the sides are easily damaged. Mimi needed to make a presentation about her work in front of her class. Unfrotunately, this didn’t last that long. According to Mimi, it was broken into pieces as she was ready to start her presentation…..
