Mimi’s Birthday Party

We haven’t hosted Mimi’s birthday party for several years.  This year, per her request, we are having one for her (even though it was a few weeks overdue).  On Friday, Mommy took a day off to take Mimi around town to get her party supplies ready.  We went to a few different stores to purchase stuffs for her goody bags for her guests.  She got candies, card, hand sanitizer, and an eraser in a bag.  She was in charge of putting her bags together.

After dinner, we went to the mall to continue our purchase.

We came across a clearance sale in one of her favorite store.  Of course, we will not pass that.

On Saturday, her guests arrived on time at 3pm.  Most of her guests were able to make the party.

We drove the girls to Ithaca Swimming Club for an afternoon pool party.  Mimi is very much into swimming now.  Too bad she didn’t develop the interest when we still owned our old house, with a swimming pool in the back yard.

It was a beautiful day for a pool party.  You can’t really ask for a better day.

Of course, we couldn’t have this party without our friend, Ellie.

Mimi was a great host.  She did an excellent job taking care of her friends.  She made sure no one felt excluded and everyone had a great time.  Of course, I have to say that this is a wonderful group of girls to work with.

Our special friends — Ellie and Irena.

And another pair of special friendship (that had been formed since these two were 2 years old).

Mimi on the diving board.  Mommy tried to take a good shot of Mimi on the air.  Believe me, it wasn’t an easy task.

Of course, if you spend enough time in the water, you will feel hungry pretty quickly.

The girls gathered together for their munchies.

Daddy bought some chocolate to the party.  The next thing you know…..

You have a girl with a full mouth of candies.

And she tried to learn the trick to catch her candy…….  with her mouth.

After replenish their energy, the girls marched to the playground next by.

Remember I said earlier that I tried to get some good pictures of the girls on the air?  Among the countless pictures I deleted, I only can post these few…..

Ready, Set and

Fly…..

This is the best one I got….

At 5pm, we brought pizza and chickend wings to the party.

I am glad that they were hungry.  We have plenty for everyone.

Tiring mommy.

Some of them really know how to relax….  and enjoy the sunshine.

They started playing the Olympic game.  They will score everyone’s diving pose.  Of course, they generously offer “10 point” to the birthday girl.

Look at this picture closely.  You think this little girl is standing on the ground?  WRONG.  This was one of the picture I caught of them flying on the air — from diving.

Mimi’s back stroke?

The girls were ready to change and head home for birthday cake and presents.

We took a group photo before heading back home.  We had (from left to right) Lucy, Chloe, Jordan, Silja, Stella, Sveta, Eva, Nisha, Irena, Chloe and Isabelle.

Immediately after we returned home, all the girls marched to Mimi’s room.

This is the first time that she had this many friends visiting her, at the same time.

While we wait for the ice cream cake to melt, the girls were watching TV in the living room.

A few minutes later, the cake was ready to be served.

Mimi asked us to buy the “special candles” — the kind that you can’t blow away easily.

Happy birthday, my dear…..

(please ignore the laundry in the background)

Wish your birthday wishes came true……

As expected, she had a hard time blowing her candles.

Let’s say it didn’t happen without some “help”….

After cake, Mimi decided to open her presents in the master bedrooms while her guests can watch the big TV.

As we got to the end of the party, parents arrived to pick up their girl.  Mimi came down say thank you to each one of her friend.  She also handed her thank you gift to all her guests.

It took her a while to open all the presents.  Thank you all.

The end…
