Liberation Day — Mimi is Off the Hook
Finally, the day has come that Mimi will finally get off the cast. She couldn’t wait to be free from her crutches and can move around that much easier.
As usual, we came to Dr. Getzin’s office for her usual appointment. We have frequented this place every two weeks for the last month. It has been a bit more than mommy expected.
Jeff and his assistant came to cut off the cast. Like the last time, they used the electronic small drill. I realized that the drill only vibrates, but not rotates so even if it touches the skin, it will not leave any marks.
It is actually less painful as it seems. Mimi didn’t feel much pain at all.
Finally, she was able to say “Hi” to her feet since a month ago. She hasn’t been able to wash her feet and i know it has been hard for her.
There was a bit discoloration on her skin. It was the built up from sweat and dirt. It took Mimi a bit to clean it off. Up until then, she really felt the relief from the cast.
According to the doctor, she still needs to wear her walker for another two weeks. We came to the office to fit the walker. The person fitting her shoe happens to be a parent if a boy (Brian) in her class. What a small world.
Mimi was starving so we got something to eat before her clarinet class.
