Mimi’s First Gymnastic Meet of the Season — Pinky Invites at Rochester
Mommy forgot to bring the camcorder to the event. Daddy was trying to record Mimi’s competition with his new iPhone. These recordings are not even close to represent the quality of her performance. Mimi, Sorry…. Mommy will remember to tape that next time.
Mimi was warming up.
The gymnasts were introduced to the ground.
Mimi was the only Level 7 gymnast representing Fingerlakes Gymnastics.
They always begin the meet by singing the National Anthem.
And everyone is asked to face the National Flag.
Mimi’s first event was vault.
Here are the recording for her vault events:

She is waiting for her turn.
I think she was looking for the marking on the floor to start her run.
Her vault scored 9.025.
Her next session was bar. During her injury, she couldn’t do much with her legs. Therefore, Dean, her coach, focused her upper body training. He expects Mimi will do pretty well with her bar, especially now she can do her giant.
That was a beautiful take!! Do you see how straight her body was?
She received a score of 9.5 for her bar event. Unfortunately, daddy didn’t film this event successfully.
Her beam was done ok. This is the area Mimi wasn’t too confident with. It’s pretty shaky to be on the balanced beam and you certainly can see that from her performance. But at least, she STAYED on the beam (and didn’t fall).
Mommy was too nervous so she forgot to take any photos of Mimi’s beam.
Unfortunately, this recording was only a partial take.

Her last event was floor. As expected, she delivered a beautiful floor routine.
She was warming up before her performance.
Can you see how high she jumped?
You can see the complete performance from:

She received a score at 9.50. That’s pretty good.
At the end, they were hosting a hand-stand contest. I guest the host needed the time to process the scoring.
For award, Mimi was placed 9th for vault.
And 4th on beam.
She won the First Place on floor.
2nd on bar.
For all around, she was placed #2. Good job, Mimi — for someone who just returned to a full practice from an injury, we think you did an AMAZING job!!
The award started at 9:30pm. By the time we left, it was really late. We quickly stopped at the rest area and grabbed something for Mimi’s dinner.
To our dear winner — Jordan Lu!! Congratulations to your great job.
