November Book Report — Bibliography on Martha Graham

Every month, Mimi needs to make a book report on a book of her choice.  However, the topic was determined by the teacher.  For the month of November, they have to choose a bibliography of a famous person and work on a project.  Mimi choose to study Martha Graham and she wanted to make a book jacket.

 

What is a book jacket?  When you buy a new book, you usually will see a cover outside of the book, like a jacket.  It contains the most essential information about the book.  This is another exercise that Mimi has to do on integrating and presenting essential information.

 

She finished studying about Martha Graham.  In order for her to know this influential figure in modern dance history, daddy found youtube clip of her performance to show Mimi.

 

It took a while for Mimi to format her book jacket.  She already had her content.  She needs to write something that will “sell” this book — to inspire those who haven’t read to book to come and learn more about Martha Graham.

 

 

After Mimi formatted the information, mommy and Mimi went to mommy’s office to print out the product from the high quality color print in the office.  We thought it was going to be a short visit but it turned out that Mimi needed to re-write quite a bit of her content because it stil needed more work.

 

 

The homework is not due until after Thanksgiving.  Therefore, Mimi waited until next week to do her finish touch — to cut off her jacket, and to fold it appropriately.

 

 

 

 

There were also a series of questions she needed to answer about the book.  I remember one was the question is “If you have a choice, will you want to be the person’s child?”

 

Mimi’s answer is “No, I don’t think if my mother is Martha Graham, she wouldn’t have time to take care of me…..”
