An Uncharted Territory?

After picking up the grill, it’s almost 8pm.  We originally thought to visit our favorite Saigon Kitchen for their noddle soup.  But mommy suggested that we should experiment new places we have never visited.

We seriously brainstormed a few ideas in town.  Nothing materialized.  As we drove by a diner that we pass by every time on route 13, mommy decided “That’s it!!”

We don’t usually eat at diners.  How should I say it?  It has a different atmosphere that we don’t usually explore.  Diners are the kind of restaurants that feature American food — hamberger, meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, etc.  You won’t find any exotic foreign flavors here.  Also, people who frequent diners are more down to earth — truck drivers, blue colar people.  Of course, this is highly generalizing what diner is but you can tell when you enter the establishment.

Mommy was taking pictures of these two from the outside window….

The price is very reasonable.

And also is reflective to the food — I think the waffle was only warm (instead of serving it hot).

But Mimi thought their French onion soup was good (but again, only a bit warm, not as hot as mommy would like it to be).

Mimi ordered their hamberger.

And daddy ordered their gyro — the owner was from Greek…..

For dinner, this is pretty reasonable.  What will I say about the dinner?  Well, I think some territories should probably remain uncharted…..
