Mimi went to Over Night Summer Camp!!

Sunday afternoon, Mommy and daddy took Mimi to attend her first sleep away camp.  Our little girl was so excited the opportunity to “be on her own” the first time of her life.

She had been packing for the last few days for everything she might possibly need.  For a sleep away camp, she packed 8 pairs of underpants.  Is this really necessary?

Our logistic expert, daddy, was helping Mimi to do the final inventory.

Can’t wait to get away from your home?  (Please ignore the laundry in the background).

Daddy put all the medication she will need in a small compartment.

Luckily, this girl remembers to bring her instrument — it will be very HANDY for her music camp.

The registration starts at 1pm.  We decided to go to lunch first.  We haven’t frequented the dim sum place for a while.  Here is the place before Mimi goes to her camp.

According to the feedback our blog audience, Daddy’s poker face has been a turn away of my audience.  Because of that, he decided to give us a big fake smile every time he is on camera.

Do you like this one?

Or this one?

Like his teeth?

Like the koala you see in the zoo, our model also needs a rest from a series of shots.

Or else, he will get upset again…….

And possibly be mean!!

We still have time after lunch so we decided to have some ice cream for a celebration — for Mimi’s independence and mommy and daddy’s liberation!!

Heading to the registration table.

It’s in alphabetical order of your last name.  Didn’t take long for Mimi to find her table.

Her counselor carefully explained to Mimi what she needed to know — DO NOT lose your keys!!

Then Mimi needed to check in her instrument.

In the auditorium, we found Mimi’s roommate.  She used to go to Montessori School with Mimi so they knew each other.  Thank GOD!!

Poor daddy was carrying the luggage for his princess.

This is where Mimi will stay, Hilliard Hall.

And this is where she met her counselor, Katie.

Her name was displayed outside of her dorm room.

This place looks SO MUCH like mommy’s first dorm room at Purdue (Young Graduate House).

Someone was busy unpacking.

It feels like she is going to college and we are helping her to move……  Luckily, we still get to keep this girl for at least another 6 years.

Her counselor left her a note to remind Mimi her audition time.

Looks pretty good, right?  Let’s wait and see how this will look like at the end of the camp.

This is her roommate’s side.

After we settled down, we need to attend an orientation where parents will be explained some important matters by the camp directors and faculty members.

After that, we had to say goodbye to Mimi.  The girl couldn’t wait to start on her own.  Didn’t even get a chance to take a good picture.

The two lonely old persons were marching their way back home.
