16 ICSD Band Members Earn All-State Honors
The Ithaca City School District Music Department is proud to announce that 16 Band Members from Dewitt Middle School and Boynton Middle School have been selected as alternates or members of the 2013 New York State Bank Directors Association (NYSBDA) Statewide Middle School Honor Band.
Pictured below, the students include; Row 1, l to r; JasonWang (trumpet), Riley Lenetsky (bass clarinet), Jason Moore (oboe – alternate),Katrina Twardokus (oboe), Brooke Henderson (trumpet), Nicole Peters (flute);Row 2, l to r, Rowan Miller (flute), Seldeon Oshoe (oboe – alternate), ElsaMohlke (Alto Saxophone), Noah Sorensen (percussion); Row 3, l to r, Yuuki Real(trombone), Lily Cowen (trombone), Lauren Eng (clarinet), Jordan Lu (clarinet),Robin Steuteville (french horn – alternate), Stella Whittaker (french horn -alternate).
Selection to the NYSBDA Statewide Middle School Honor Band isbased on 2012 NYSSMA Solo Performance Scores, Teacher Recommendations andPerformance Evaluations. Ithaca has the largest contingent of members inthe Statewide Honor Band for the 3rd consecutive year.
The selected students will perform with the other members of theStatewide Band at the NYSBDA Convention on March 1 – 3, 2013, in Liverpool, NY.
