Sunday Family Project — Cleaning our backyard

Sunday afternoon, we decided to clean up our back yard.

Winter is certainly stepping away but it left quite a bit of debris in the backyard.

Remember our first Xmas tree?  Daddy left that on the porch a few weeks ago.  It’s time to clean it up.

See the masses?

The girl scout was trying to shuffle the snow.

Daddy found something interesting in the backyard.  There used to be a groundhog living in the backyard.  Daddy was very upset with it because this little creature built numerous tunnels in the backyard.

But that day, daddy found a suspecious animal body left in the entrance of the tunnel.

Could that be it?

I guess so. It was there liveless and didn’t move.

Mommy also found a piece of tail near by.  To put all pieces together, I believe that this ground hog was hunted by the fox (recently spotted in the neighborhood).  It was wounded and made its way back to the hole.  However, it was stucked in the entrance and couldn’t get in or out.  When the snow storm came a few weeks ago, this poor little creature was frozen to death.

Does it make sense to you?

Daddy also picked up a huge piece of ice from the patio door cover.

After hours of cleaning, we were certainly making progress.

Now that our backyard looks much better.

And here came Victor.

He was very interested in the pine cone.

You can tell that someone is very methodical with his pine cone……
