Eight Square School House Field Trip
Last Friday, Mimi went to “Eight Square School House” for her 4th grade field trip. The purpose of the trip is to offer an early 19th century rural experience in a classroom setting. Each family was provided with a clear instruction on outfit and lunch menu. Mimi asked me to read carefully about her lunch choices. Here is what I prepared for her:
— Cold cut turkey sandwitch with mayo (which is considered as a “luxury” for the time) and lettuce wrapped in wax paper (no plastic)
— nuts
— chocolate chip cookie
— peach
— bottled lemonade
— All items were placed in a small picnic basket
I forgot to take a photo on the lunch but did take a few pictures of her “traditional” outfit. It took us one afternoon to find that outfit in Salvation Army store….
