Door Prize? Disappointment?
This morning, mommy got an email from Cornell saying:
Congratulations ….
You are a winner of one of the door prizes from the S.E.E.D. event ….
Please come to B20 Day Hall to collect your prize!!! (We are open 8-4:30 Monday-Thursday and 8-3:30 on Friday).
Mommy attended a University hosted event a few days ago. I put my name into the drawing but wasn’t expecting to win anything. With that email, I can’t help to think what am I winning this time?
Is that Statler Hotel Dinner for Two?
Could that be the bus trip to NYC with two nights stay in Cornell Club?
Is that a gift certificate from Heights Cafe?
Or, this could be free movie theater tickets for Mimi and I?
I went to Day Hall with excitement and anxiety to claim my prize. I tried to give myself a prep talk that it could be something as small as a coffee mug so that I will not be too disappointed.
It took a long time for them to find my award.
Finally, the woman handed me an envelope with:

This is a one week free membership (worth about $30.00). Even though the woman in the office told me this is considered one of the “better” prize, this is probably the last thing I will need in my life. Now, the coffee mug looks very attractive.
I will talk to Mimi to see how we are going to use this. Auctioning this out on Craigslist? Or you may see a new article next week of our trip to the fitness center?
Stay tuned.
